The band was an off shoot of Jinx which performed clubs in Chicago. When I joined Jinx, Joe Zanona and Terry Curtain were the only players left. We immediately started looking for a female singer and a drummer. Mike Neff was our first choice for drummer and then came Rene Varo as vocalist, born in Wisconsin, to do vocals and strong vocals I might add. We started out with a very original approach to what I could categorize as "space rock". The fans loved it. Very unusual and fun. Then we seemed to lean toward a more serious rock approach as we developed and jammed more and became more popular in the area. Demos came with the tunes and talk of record deals. Our first deal was signing to Chrysalis Records and we learned of the underlying plot to take Renee' from the band after the deal was struck. Joe and Renee ended up going to England to record half of the record with hired guns and then returned to USA to record the rest of the record in LA with me on guitars but with a different drummer and bass player. The company realized that the sound was not what they signed. The record did come out sounding strong and although the band was seperated, it still sounded coheasive. It never did come back together as the original Wild Blue with members Terry Curtain and Mike Neff quiting the band. I stayed on with the addition of Mike Gorman on bass and drummer Ken Hark from Off Broadway and continued playing and writing. We then arranged a song written by Chad Sanford, producer on the second half of "No More Jinx", shot a video for the movie "Fire With Fire" released by Paramount and showed on MTV. We started touring but lost momentum fast. We then left Chrysalis after the fiasco and got a deal with Pasha Records, Spencer Profer Pres. This seemed like a very promising project with some great songs and playing on the record, but the budget was not there to push the release. It never left the shelf. Some of these tunes are also available to hear as I construct this page. The project then finally ended and I moved on to Giant the local band, recorded demos with Dave Bickler from Survivor and played on sessions with numerous players both on song demos and jingles. I then started Ondavon.
